Why is weight important?

We all know maintaining a healthy weight is important because excess body fat produces hormones which can make you susceptible to a number of serious illness, and the more overweight, the greater the risk to:

 Body fat

It is important to remember that everyone is different, so a good way to calculate how much body weight you carry is to test your Body Max Index.

 Why am I overweight?

There may be many things that impact your weight and it sometimes is not just food.  Genes also play a part, apparently 70% of why you may be overweight.  The other 30% is for the environment.

 Habits - Eating habits can originate from childhood.  Perhaps you were told you had to eat all  the food off your plate, as there are children starving in the world, and this impact your dietary patterns from childhood.  Because these patterns are reinforced through childhood, teenage years and early adulthood they become difficult to change.

 Hypnosis can help with eating habits by working directly with the mind, thoughts and behavioural patters, as well as working with the "urges" which are often felt in the body.

 Food - People who often snack on high fat foods or high calories tend to put weight on compared to people who eat a balance diet of protein, fruit and vegetables. By understanding the importance of food and snacking with hypnotherapy helps to create and manage new eating snacking patterns.

 Emotions - Emotions can have a huge part to play in overeating.  Food can sometimes be seen as a comfort food and is used after a stressful situation such as a bad day at work, or an argument, or when feeling bored, tired or sad.

 Emotional eating is actually quite common by understanding the cycle of emotional eating.  Hypnosis can help break the repetitive cycle, and create awareness and understanding as you create new healthier habits.

I very rarely use the word "diet" as it is a word with short-term effects. People generally go on a diet to lose weight, and once they have reached their ideal weight they return to their old eating habits.  we work together to establish new healthy eating patterns where you will learn how to make lifelong changes which will help you manage and maintain your weight.
